FragPunk – 10 New Things You Should Know

With the usual suspects like Overwatch 2, and Valorant dominating the space, the competitive shooter genre isn’t exactly bursting at the seams with options. This August sees Firewalk Studios’ Concord entering the fray as a new hero shooter, but perhaps more intriguing is FragPunk. Developed by Bad Guitar Studio, a subsidiary of NetEase Games, it’s a free-to-play first-person shooter launching in 2025, exclusively for Xbox Series X/S and PC.

I had a chance to go hands-on with the recent playtest and was pleasantly surprised at its bombastic presentation and responsive gunplay. Here are ten new details you should know, including what sets it apart from the competition.

Tokyo Olympics: Eight Team GB members isolating as three new coronavirus cases confirmed

The six athletes and two staff members, who each tested negative for coronavirus before flying to Japan last week, are now under the supervision of Team GB s medical team.

The individual who tested positive for coronavirus is not from the British delegation.

Team GB chef de mission, Mark England, said: This is disappointing news for the athletes and staff, but we absolutely respect the protocols in place.

We will offer them every support during this period and we are hopeful that they will be able resume training again soon.

The number of Games-linked individuals to have tested pos…

FromSoftware Says it’s “Not Really Considering” Elden Ring 2 Right Now

Elden Ring and its expansion Shadow of the Erdtree have both been enjoyed universal critical acclaim, while the base game and DLC have both also performed impressively where sales are concerned, so it’s only natural to assume that developer FromSoftware is going to be keen to strike the iron with a sequel while it’s hot- but that doesn’t seem to be the plan.

Earlier this year, FromSoftware president and Elden Ring director Hidetaka Miyazaki stated that the studio didn’t have any plans in place at the time for an Elden Ring 2, and in a recent interview with IGN Japan (translated by Automaton Media), he reiterated the same, stating that a sequel to the acclaimed open world action RPG isn’t something th…

Koeman completes Barcelona return as Setien´s successor

Ronald Koeman has been hired as Barcelona s new head coach following Monday s dismissal of Quique Setien.

The Dutchman leaves his role as head coach of the Netherlands, having agreed a two-year deal at Camp Nou.

Setien s sacking was confirmed after just seven months in charge, as he paid the price for Barca s failure to win LaLiga and their 8-2 Champions League humiliation at the hands of Bayern Munich.

That quarter-final defeat last Friday was Barca s worst since 1946 and others could yet follow Setien out of the door.

Welcome home, !

The report has claimed that Premier League club Liverpool could be in the market for a second-choice goalkeeper, and that Patterson is on the radar of the former Premier League and UEFA Champions League winners.

Alisson is the first-choice goalkeeper at Liverpool, with Caoimhin Kelleher his back up. Kelleher has done well for the Reds this season when playing in place of Alisson due to injury, and the Republic of Ireland international has aspirations to be a number one goalkeeper. So, Liverpool could sell Kelleher in the summer transfer window.

HITC has reported that Liverpool watched Patterson in action for Sunderland against Bristol City at the Stadium of Light last weekend. Th…

Chelsea 4-0 Juventus: Ruthless holders breeze into round of 16

Trevoh Chalobah marked his first Champions League start with a goal as Chelsea stormed into the round of 16 with an emphatic 4-0 win over Juventus.

The holders only needed to a point to qualify and they outclassed Juve at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday to replace them at the top of Group H with one game to play.

Hertha Berlin v Borussia Dortmund: Langerak left in the dark

Borussia Dortmund goalkeeper Mitchell Langerak is being kept in the dark about whether he will feature in Saturday s trip to Hertha Berlin.

Australian Langerak joined Dortmund in 2010, but has had to largely play back-up to 34-year-old Roman Weidenfeller.

However, Dortmund s horrible start to the Bundesliga season which has seen them, at times, sit bottom resulted in Weidenfeller being dropped.

Langerak has started Dortmund s last two matches, a 1-0 Bundesliga success against Hoffenheim and Tuesday s 1-1 UEFA Champions League draw with Anderlecht a result that ensured Jurgen Klopp s side topped Group D in Europe s premier club competition.

Talk of a changing of the guard at Dortmund has followed Klopp s decision to replace Weidenfeller with the 26-year…

Muller not thinking of Germany recall following Bayern double

Thomas Muller was not thinking about the possibility of a Germany recall after helping Bayern Munich retain their place at the top of the Bundesliga.

Scrutiny of Joachim Low s decision to drop Muller, Jerome Boateng and Mats Hummels from his Germany squad last year has been under intense scrutiny following their 6-0 thrashing at the hands of Spain in November.

Low became only the third Germany manager to concede six goals in a match after Otto Nerz and Sepp Herberger, with his team now having won just three of their past eight fixtures.

Muller has enjoyed a resurgence since being cast aside by Low, supplying a Bundesliga record 21 assists as Hansi Flick s side took the title as part of a treble in 2019-20.

The 31-year-old scored twice during Bayern s ente…

Prediction: Belgium vs Mexico

Verdict: Belgium to win and both teams to score

Best Odds:

Bookmaker:

The World Cup is quickly approaching now with two of the tournament’s teams Belgium and Mexico meeting in a warm up game at the Stade Roi Baudouin on Friday night.

Belgium

There’s no doubt that Belgium have looked considerably better since Roberto Martinez took over the side last year. His team have gone the whole of the qualification process unbeaten, drawing only one game away to Russia, and scoring an incredible 43 goals in the process. In fact the Belgians have netted 19 times in their last four international fixtures but they have also shown signs of defensive frailty on occasions, proven in their 4-3 away win against Serbia. Even though their match against Mexico is only a…
