Excel at the art of the pitch in Jason Della Rocca’s GDC Masterclass

A good game in need of funding is nothing without a good pitch. You can have the right game, the right team, and the right opportunity, but you only have a limited amount of time and resources to explain to publishers or investors why they should care about your game.

Fortunately, this is a problem that Jason Della Rocca has been solving for several years. And he wants to help you solve them in his day-long, interactive workshop taking place on December 4th.

This will be your chance rapidly iterate on and improve your game pitch while getting direct feedback from Della Rocca himself. His seminar will help developers with commercially viable games prep better pitches that will score well with premium publishers. Attendees can also …

Call of Duty uncouples Warzone from annual schedule with platform overhaul

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6's release is bringing change to the larger franchise by letting players dictate what they download from the games.

In a new blog on the series' website, the developers revealed players will be able to remove Call of Duty: Warzone from the download of yearly entries. This change will go into effect next Wednesday, August 21.

Previous Call of Duty games have become infamous for their large file sizes at launch, which grow further during their individual lifecycles. Much of that can be placed on the free-to-play battle royale, whose updates change with each new game.

Harmonix said the Rock Band DLC catalog has been a huge achievement in "persistence and commitment," but with the company throwing itself into the development of Fortnite Festival following its acquisition by Epic Games, it's preparing to call time on those DLC plans.

Changes To How Steam Demos Work Are On The Way

Valve has unveiled changes to how demos work on Steam, as the company is aiming to make them easier to discover. These updates will see demos redesigned to be more like standalone games on the platform, giving them their own store page separate from the main game’s hub. The benefit to this is that the demo page can contain separate screenshots, trailers, and details on these slices of the full game to help set them apart and give potential players more accurate information. You’ll also be able to add demos to your collection without needing to download it straight away, and when it’s uninstalled, it’ll also be removed from your library.

According to Valve, these changes are driven by developer and player feedback, and players can expect to receive alerts for demos of wishlisted ga…
