No news about Arnautovic to China links – Pellegrini

Marko Arnautovic will not be distracted by rumours of a potential move to China as West Ham prepare to face Arsenal, according to Manuel Pellegrini.

Speculation has emerged this week suggesting that Arnautovic has been the subject of a £35million bid from a Chinese Super League club.

The Austrian has been a key performer under Pellegrini this season, scoring seven times in 15 Premier League appearances, the forward enjoying a fine second campaign having signed a five-year deal in a £20m switch from Stoke City in July 2017.

And Pellegrini had little by way of an update regarding Arnautovic s future when he faced the media on Thursday ahead of Arsenal s trip to London Stadium this weekend.

I answer the same with other names, coming or going, Pellegrin…

McCaffrey ´proud to be a 49er´ after rare touchdown hat-trick in win over Rams

Christian McCaffrey declared he was proud to be a 49er after his rare touchdown hat-trick inspired San Francisco s 31-14 win over the Los Angeles Rams.

Playing in only his second game for the Niners following his blockbuster trade from the Carolina Panthers, McCaffrey made a huge impact at SoFi Stadium on Sunday.

The star running back ran for a touchdown, took a pass from Jimmy Garoppolo to score another and also picked out Brandon Aiyuk with a 34-yard pass for a rare treble.

McCaffrey is the first NFL player since LaDainian Tomlinson in 2005 to achieve a touchdown trifecta feat.

He racked up 94 rushing yards and 55 receiving yards, as well as turning provider for wide receiver Aiyuk.

The 49ers stormed back in the second half to move to 4-4 ahead …

Xavi ´really wants to go home´ to Barcelona

Xavi said he really wants to go home , with Barcelona in talks with Al Sadd to make him their new head coach.

Barca s first vice-president Rafael Yuste and director of football Mateu Alemany were in attendance for Al Sadd s 3-3 draw with Al Duhail on Wednesday, a result that kept Xavi s side three points clear at the top of the Stars League.

The former midfielder, who made 767 appearances for Barca as a player and won 25 trophies during an illustrious spell for the club, has been the frontrunner to take over following the dismissal of Ronald Koeman last week.

Al Sadd last week insisted Xavi was solely focused on the Qatari club, with whom he has a two-year contract, but the coach confirmed an agreement on his future could be reached in a matter of hours. <…

Redknapp rules out January signings

Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp says he does not intend to bring in anyone to bolster his squad during the January transfer window.

The former Portsmouth boss took charge of Spurs in 2008 following the exit of Juande Ramos, with the team bottom, having accumulated just two points from eight Premier League games.

Three years on, the north London club are sitting third in the top flight, and are on an unbeaten run of 10 games that includes victories in each of their past five.

Now Redknapp feels that he does not need to strengthen his squad in the upcoming transfer window, unless injuries force his hand.

As it stands, I m not looking to bring anyone into the club in January, he said.

I was initially concerned about injuries to some of our defen…

CAS upholds Sion expulsion

The Court of Arbitration for Sport has announced their backing of UEFA s decision to expel Sion from the Europa League.

The Swiss Super League side were denied a place in the competition after fielding ineligible players in the playoff round against Celtic, while under a transfer ban for illegally signing goalkeeper Essam El-Hadary from Al Ahly in 2008.

As a result, Sion were replaced by the Scottish Premier League outfit in Group I, prompting the Swiss team to file an appeal.

The CAS first decided that it had jurisdiction to rule on the request for arbitration filed by UEFA on 26 September, 2011, a CAS statement read.

It then decided to confirm that Sion should not be reintegrated in the UEFA Europa League 2011/2012, confirming indirectly the validity…

Ramirez set for Southampton exit

Gaston Ramirez will leave Southampton following the expiration of his contract, while goalkeeper Kelvin Davis is to be offered a behind-the-scenes role.

Uruguay international Ramirez arrived at St Mary s Stadium from Bologna for a club-record fee in 2012, but has failed to live up to his billing since making the switch.

Loan spells at Hull City and Middlesbrough over the past two seasons have not convinced Southampton to retain Ramirez, who will now be looking for a new club after scoring eight goals in 55 appearances for Southampton.

Davis, meanwhile, could extend his 10-year stay on the south coast, albeit not as a player.

Kelvin s tremendous passion and commitment to the club are two of the reasons why we are currently in conversations with him abou…

Buckley makes Sunderland move

Sunderland have announced the signing of winger Will Buckley from Brighton and Hove Albion for an undisclosed fee.

The 24-year-old worked under Sunderland head coach Gus Poyet at the Championship club and arrives on Wearside on a three-year contract.

Having started his career at Rochdale, Buckley made 68 appearances for the Lancashire club before making the step up to the Championship to join Watford in January 2010.

Buckley spent a season and a half at Vicarage Road, with Poyet then swooping to take him to Brighton in June 2011.

And Poyet has now signed Buckley, who scored 19 goals in 100 league appearances for the south-coast club, for a second time having also signed Liam Bridcutt from his former club in January.

Rodriguez is ´100% fit´… just ask his dad

Clubs interested in Jay Rodriguez have had any fears over the forward s fitness put to rest, by the Southampton man s father.

One-cap England international Rodriguez has made just 12 appearances across the past two seasons after suffering a serious knee injury in the 2013-14 campaign.

His name was linked to Hull City on Friday with the Tigers keen to bolster a squad that has started the season with just 13 fit senior players.

As talk of the move spread across Hull fans on Twitter, claims that Rodriguez was on the brink of retirement were raised, but soon shot down by a user Enrique Rodriguez who claimed the striker was 100% fit .

When David Fergus questioned the veracity of this information, demanding a source, Mr Rodriguez simply replied: I m his dad.

Inter complete Gabriel capture

Inter have signed Brazil striker Gabriel Barbosa on a five-year deal from Santos.

Gabriel has been heavily linked with a number of European clubs, including Premier League champions Leicester City, Paris Saint-Germain and Inter s Serie A rivals Juventus.

Manchester United and Borussia Dortmund have also been reported to be keen on his services, but it is Inter who have won the race for his signature.

He is the latest addition in what has been a busy transfer window for the Milan giants, whose other signings include wingers Joao Mario and Antonio Candreva and attacking midfielder Ever Banega.

An official club statement read: Gabriel Barbosa Almeida received a bonus present today after officially signing as an Inter player on his 20th birthday.
