UEFA has postponed Euro 2020 until next year due to the impact of the coronavirus pandemic, according to the Norwegian Football Federation.

UEFA hosted a video conference on Tuesday with all 55 member associations and other necessary stakeholders to determine the outlook of the next few months in European football.

Euro 2020 was due to begin in Rome on June 12 before continuing in 11 other cities around Europe, but an early communication from the NFF claims the tournament has been put back to June 11, 2021.

An NFF post on Twitter read: UEFA has decided that the European Championship is postponed to 2021.

It is the third time England’s capital city has hosted the games which will see over two hundred nations competing for honours in 306 events across 26 sports.

The opening ceremony will take place on Friday, July 27th, however the men’s football will begin 24 hours before with all sixteen teams playing on the same day.

Claudio Ranieri was appointed Leicester manager on this day in 2015, kick-starting a remarkable campaign which saw the Foxes crowned Premier League champions.

Each club owns a 1-1 record in the preseason thus far. Aaron Rodgers hasn’t played a preseason game since 2018, and that trend will continue tomorrow night.

Two days of chippy practices have set up a potentially heated exhibition showdown as the Atlanta Falcons face the Miami Dolphins in the preseason opener for both teams.
